Tapered to precision, the sokoto is cut to vanish beneath the outer robe. The waist is fitted with an internal drawstring and zip closure, providing seamless support while maintaining visual harmony. -
Aṣọlórí is constructed from a tightly woven cotton blend, selected for its blend of formality, breathability, and strength. It holds shape without stiffness and drapes with a grace that suggests ancestral memory. The garment’s weight is deliberate—felt, but never burdensome.
The embroidery is rendered using matte-finished cocoa-brown satin thread, applied with raised detailing in a symmetrical layout. This embroidery technique was developed to echo Yoruba cosmological balance—vertical grounding, floral ascent, and horizontal symmetry.
